About this survey
Community Impact Northern Nevada undertook this survey with the intent to improve Lyon County education. In order to receive forthright answers, this was an anonymous survey with no tracking on the individuals responding. The online survey system only allowed one survey completion per device in order to prevent individuals from completing multiple surveys. The quantity of survey responses were lower than our goal yet still provided meaningful data for our district to consider while making future decisions about school priorities. The majority of respondents reported to be parents who currently or previously had children in the Lyon County public schools. Most reported they were “Highly Involved” with their children’s school. The location of respondents came from the Dayton area more than the general population of Lyon County, so some results may reflect the experiences in Dayton more accurately than other areas.
Overall Findings
Responses to questions that asked for a “Grade” for a specific school system attribute generally resulted in averages
between C‐ and C+ with one D+. There were no averages in the A, B, or F ranges.
